Rebuilding the Bronze Age

Follow a unique archaeology project from start to finish

We built a Bronze Age roundhouse! Follow the entire construction process in this nine part series, plus bonus episodes on Bronze Age skills.

Through the series, you’ll get to know the veteran team from Operation Nightingale, an MOD initiative using archaeology to help sick and injured veterans in their recovery. They found the archaeology for this roundhouse on Salisbury Plain, and now they’re here to bring it to life!

You’ll also see guest appearances from anthropologist Alice Roberts, archaeologist Phil Harding, MOD archaeologist Richard Osgood, as well as Butser’s own archaeologists and ancient skills experts.
