Phil Harding at the Farm!

We sit down to chat in our new Saxon hall...

Phil Harding is a highly accomplished archaeologist, working in the field since 1971, and inspired a whole new generation of archaeologists and historians through his work on Time Team. We invited him down to see our newly-completed Saxon hall, based on archaeology from a dig Phil was involved in back in 1974!

Sitting in our reconstructed hall, we ask Phil all about his time on that dig, as well as the experience that inspired his lifelong love of archaeology, how he uses flint knapping to understand the past, and some of the highlights from his 20-year career on Time Team.

Roundhouse Chats are a series of interviews with leading archaeologists and academics, including Dr Cat Jarman, archaeologist Richard Osgood, the curator of Fishbourne Palace Rob Symmons, and now Phil Harding!

Our full interview with Phil Harding, as well as over 50 other videos, is available to supporters now!
